What We Do before Veterinary Surgery

Regardless of the type of canine surgery or other veterinary surgery your pet may need, you are going to have questions about what to expect, the procedural process, and after-surgery care.

When you schedule an appointment with our clinic, a veterinarian on our team will do a full consultation with you after completing an examination of your pet. The vet will then go over your pet's health status, and schedule necessary tests, such as X-ray, urinalysis, and blood work.

Before scheduling the surgery, your pet might need to be current on his  vaccinations. Other considerations prior to surgery include your pet being at a healthy weight and the medication(s) your pet may be taking. A veterinarian on our veterinary team will also discuss fasting instructions for your pet prior to surgery.

Depending on the type of procedure your pet is receiving, it may be required that round-the-clock monitoring is necessary. A vet on our team will discuss this with you and make any recommendations.
